November 4, 1921- June 20, 2012
Irene (Lee) Posteher passed away on June 20, 2012 at the age of 90, with daughter Teri by her side in Arizona City, AZ. Lee was born in New Salem, North Dakota to Lee and Marie Waddell. When she married Carl Posteher in Denver CO. she began her life traveling and moving all over the United States with Carl and their three daughters. Everywhere she went, she had a knack for making wonderful friends. When they moved to Grand Junction, CO in 1982 they decided that this is finally the place to retire in. Lee loved golf and had been an active member of Tiara Rado and Lincoln Park Ladies Golf Association. She was also an avid bowler and was on many leagues. When she wasn’t playing golf or bowling, she enjoyed playing Bridge, Pinochle, and Bunco with her friends. Lee was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. She loved to garden and cook. Baking desserts for family and friends gave her much joy. We are really going to miss her baked cookies and treats at Christmas. Lee is preceded in death by her parents and husband Carl. She leaves behind two sisters, Betty (Phil) Frey and Ione (Dick) Brusig; three daughters, Wanda (Bud) Stephens, Teri (David) Conyer, Trudy (Bob) Tarras, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. At Lee’s request there will be no service, instead we the family would like all you golfers, bowlers and card players to go out and enjoy a game in memory of her. She will be truly missed. Arrangements entrusted to Valley of the Sun (Chandler, AZ.) www.valleyofthesunfuneralhome.com and Grand Junction Memorial Gardens (Grand Junction, CO) www.aftercareplanning.com/grand-junction-memorial-gardens.
