Hilario (Lalo) Gutierrez

Hilario Gutierrez passed away peacefully at his home in Chandler, AZ on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the age of 76. Hilario was born in Presidio, Texas on February 26, 1948 and lived nearly his entire life in Arizona.

Hilario was a hard-working field laborer early in life and later went on to establish a career working for Norplex Oak/Isola Group in Chandler, AZ. A devout Catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Chandler, AZ. He grew up with a love for mechanics and was always ready to share his expertise and lend a helping hand. He was also an avid sport fan and loved music and dancing. The outdoors were Hilario's sanctuary. He reveled in the simplicity and beauty of nature through camping and countless family trips.

Above all else, Hilario cherished spending time with his family and friends. His family was his world, and his love and dedication to them were boundless. He will be profoundly missed but warmly remembered by all who knew him.

Hilario is survived by his loving wife, Ofelia, who shared 58 years together; his daughters, Connie (Javier) and Rita (Juan); son, Daniel; grandchildren, JJ, Patrick (Yury), Michael (Alexus), Miranda, Katrina (Alex), Brianna, Adriana (Edwin), Angelica, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Xaryah, Lillyanna, Penelope, Evelynn, Emeliah, Zaraelie, Zavier, Jordyn, Jose, and Zandrea; his brother Ismael (Gloria); and his sisters, Nancy (Alfred) and Margaret (Andy). He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Guadalupe; his parents, Catarino and Elisa; sister, Jesusita; uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service to be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248 on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service in Valley of the Sun Cemetery.
