David J. Marley, 80 passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2013. He was the husband of the late Lillian “Sandy” Marley who passed away in 2008. David was born on March 25, 1933 in Shaker Heights, Ohio to the late Aloise and Sophia Marleski. David graduated from Case Technical University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and went on to have a lucrative career in engineering that included 12 patents. He spent most of his early years working on projects that aided in the Space Program. His later were spent working on a variety of projects involving jets, pumps, computers, and the Osprey aircraft. His last project involved hydrogen powered vehicles. He is survived by his two sons, Scott Marley and his partner David Nee of El Cerritos, CA and Douglas Marley and his wife Stephanie of Sun Lakes, AZ. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Alexis and Stephen Marley, and David’s companion Cathy Strunk. He was predeceased by a brother Peter. A memorial service and interment will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the memorial garden at Valley of the Sun Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Chandler Heights Road in Chandler, Arizona.
