Beverly Mae (Cody) Mueller, age 91, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, went peacefully home to her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2021. She was born in Evan, Minnesota in April 1930 to Amer and Duella (Finnestad) Cody.
In 1938 her family moved to a farm in Fenton, Iowa. Her elementary education was in a country school until she graduated from the 8th grade. Her 4 years of high school was at Augustana Academy in Canton, South Dakota where she graduated in May of 1948. June 1948 she was employed by Railway Motors in Fairmont, Minnesota.
On January 22,1949 she married Lawrence (Larry) Mueller in Depew, Iowa. They farmed in and near Fenton and started their family of five children. In 1960 they sold their farm and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Beverly went to work on the night shifts at Motorola and was the supervisor of her division until 1965, when she quit to work with her husband, Larry, in the State Farm Insurance business. Bev and Larry were able to travel abroad to many destinations. Upon retirement in 1989, they moved to Payson, Arizona. Due to health issues, Bev and Larry moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona in 1998.
Beverly was a faithful member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Sun Lakes and former member of Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix, volunteering her time and talents. She touched many lives of family and friends with her amazing story-telling, love for cooking and baking, and spoiling everyone with her ever famous Norwegian Kringla. Bev had a huge love of sports, playing basketball and softball, and a very competitive spirit for playing card games. She enjoyed keeping a meticulous home and had an incredible work ethic. Bev loved having fun, playing practical jokes, had an unforgettable laugh and sense of humor, and smiled through even the most difficult moments of life. She was highly respected, easy going, kind, and had a positive outlook. Bev was blessed with an incredible close circle of friends and neighbors who loved her throughout her life. Her biggest joys were living her deep faith in the Lord, loving her devoted husband of almost 72 years, and treasuring her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. She had a heart of gold and was a tremendous blessing. Bev left a legacy for us and her precious memory will live on.
