Samuel R. Welsh Jr.

on August 24, 1945, in Mercersburg, PA, to the late Samuel R. Welsh Sr. and Corina (Amsley) Welsh.

He is preceded in death by his siblings; Stella Marie Knox, Phyllis Daywalt, Bea Cunningham, Dean Welsh and Melvin Welsh.

Surviving Samuel is his loving wife of 41 years, Freda Mae Welsh; son, Lewis Welsh; grandson, Dakota Goshorn and his wife Haley; and great grandson Lincoln Goshorn with a great granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his last remaining sibling, Judy Zeis.

Samuel graduated from James Buchanan High School. He worked for Stanley for over 30 years and then moved to Staples where he spent another 25+ years and was still employed at the time of his passing. He was an avid sportsman all his life and enjoyed both playing sports and watching them on the television. He enjoyed playing golf, and he and Freda were both members of a bowling league for many years.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at Parklawns Funeral Home; 3218 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm. Burial will follow out in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
