Rosemary "Rose" Hushfield

Rose was a caring Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Step-Grandmother and Friend. She left this world on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at the age of 88. Rose was married to the late Donald E. Hushfield and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Brenda H. and David J. Cook. Rose was also the sister of the

late Oscar J. Savoy and survived by his children Sheryl, Roxanne, and Annette. She was born to the late Dedier J. Savoy and the late Philomena P. Savoy on September 23, 1933.

She loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious Italian meals for the family and loved crafting. Rose worked at Pure and Simple Health Food Store for 15 years and enjoyed working with family there. Her love for dance won her and Donald every Jitter Bug contest they entered. Most of her weekends was filled with dance and music even in her senior years. She developed a wonderful group of friends, and they were known as the YaYa Sisters. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Rose’s smile, hugs and kindness will be truly missed.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. A memorial mass at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 PARIS ROAD, in Chalmette, will begin at 1:00 PM. Rose will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
