Raymond “Ray-Ray” Keller Jr. passed away on October 24, 2024, at his home in Chalmette, LA, after a brief battle with cancer. Ray is survived by his children Raymond Keller III (Bonnie), Sandy Keller (Pedro Suarez), and his granddaughter Sophia Suarez-Keller. He is also survived by his companion, Deborah Wilson; his brother and sisters, Ronnie Keller (Janet), Darnell Manchester, Diane Coker (Tommy), and Denise Terrebonne (Nolan). He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Keller Sr. and Theresa O’Donnell Keller.
Ray served in the Marine Corps for 6 years. He was a long-time welder at Brown & Root and a member of the local 60 union. Ray loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing. He shared this love with many friends and family through the years hosting countless trips to Greene County, Alabama. Ray was a loving and caring father to his children. Ray, Sandy, and Sophia were his pride and joy. He was truly loved by many and loved his family “very very much.” Everyone will miss his many daily phone calls.
Ray surrendered his life to Christ on February 11, 2021, and began a new way of living. Since that time, he dedicated his life to serving others and helping those in need. Throughout his short illness, he spoke often of going to heaven and cutting grass on a zero-turn mower for Jesus.
The service will be private at a later date. In memory of Ray, the family asks for donations to be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org/donate
