Patsy Ann Allen

Patsy Ann Allen peacefully passed away Sunday, August 8th, 2021 at the age of 72. Beloved mother of Joseph E. Allen Jr., stepmother of Becky Allen Farrell and preceded in death by husband Joseph E. Allen Sr. (1995) and companion Lloyd Sauvinet (2010). Patsy was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana February 28, 1949 to the late H.B. “Jack” Allen and Ann Elizabeth Steadman Schaefer. She is the beloved sister of Henry Schaefer (Karin), Mikel Schaefer (Jaye) and the late John S. Schaefer Jr.

Patsy is survived by niece Malissa Schaefer Aldridge and nephews Cayman, Connor and Aidan Schaefer as well as great-nephews Garrett and Gabriel Aldridge. She is also the beloved step-grandmother to Theodore Farrell Jr. and Britneye Farrell Ladner. Patsy was the beloved friend of the late Barbara Mistrot (2019) and survived and fondly remembered by Leslie Verdin and Lloyd Mistrot. She was also the proud nanny to Susan, Stephanie and Sabrina Verdin.

There was no one more loving or loyal than Patsy. She always sacrificed for her family and would do anything for a loved one. She followed in the footsteps of her mother and was a talented Jackson Square artist who sold her artwork to those around the world. She showered her family with love and affection and we will miss her dearly. She adored her friend Barbara Mistrot and absolutely loved her annual trips to Texas to visit Lloyd.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, August 12th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in Patsy’s memory beginning at 11:00AM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Due to COVID-19, face masks and social distancing are required.
