Oscar J. Ledet

Oscar J. Ledet passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the age of 88. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce Ryan Ledet. Loving father of Bobby Ledet (Sally), Michael Ledet and Wayne Ledet (Lisa). Brother of Bernice Nunez. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Oscar was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Tammy, his parents Jeffrey and Beatriz Perez Ledet; and his 5 sisters.

Born in New Orleans, LA, and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, Oscar enjoyed a fulfilling career as an Operator in the oil industry. He was also well-known for his sense of humor, rarely taking life too seriously. Oscar had an infectious love of laughter, often making everyone around him laugh out loud, and always brought joy to any room. He cherished the simple pleasures of life, whether it was fishing or traveling in his beloved motor home. Oscar deeply valued time spent with his friends and family, even making strangers feel comfortable and welcome. Above all, Oscar will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty and dedication to his family, his caring and loving nature, the sound of his laughter and the way he spoiled his grandchildren. He was an wonderful example of kindness, compassion, and what it means to truly care for others. Rest in peace, dear Oscar. Your presence in our lives will be greatly missed, but your love, laughter, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, November 25th from 11:00AM - 1:00PM, followed by a celebration of Oscar's life beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
