Mary Freda Allen

Freda is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Eugene D. Allen of Meraux, LA; She is survived by four sons Richard Allen of Dallas, GA: Gary Allen and wife Ladonna of Bush, LA: Michael Allen and wife Rita of Meraux, LA: and Thomas Allen and wife Kelley of Carson, VA. Her grandchildren are Garrett Allen and wife Michelle of Los Angeles, California: Aaron Schmiderer of Bossier City, LA; Jason Schmiderer and wife Alex of Benton, Arkansas; Jarrett Arnold and wife Ashton of Cummings, Georgia; Chelsea Chowning and husband Eddie of Dallas, Georgia; Hayley Desmarais and husband Justin of Virginia Beach, VA; Heidi Allen and husband Will of Suffolk, VA; Jana Bauers and husband Nate of Chesapeake, VA and Nathan Allen and wife Dasha of North Chesterfield, VA. She also has 11 amazing great grandchildren.

Freda was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed her family, friends and her church. She moved to Virginia in 2021 and was very active in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. She was a very outgoing and social person who loved to be in the middle of everything. She really loved to sew and embroider. She had a passion for Facebook and living on her iPad. She loved her church and Sunday School class more than anything.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Brighter Living Assisted Living in Hopewell, VA for the amazing love and care that they provided to our mom in her final years. We will always remember how you loved her.

A private family service will be held to honor and remember our dear Freda.
