Justin "Shuga" Charles Barbay

Justin “Shuga” Charles Barbay, a resident of St. Bernard Parish, passed away on November 13th, 2024, at the age of 34. In life, he was the devoted father of Peyton Nicole Barbay and husband of Katie Perez Barbay. He was the beloved son of Charles “Rusty” Barbay and Tracye McCray; brother of Derek Barbay (Stephanie) and Lindsay Mayeux (Mike); son-in-law of Leo Perez Jr. and Candice Perez; brother-in-law of Nicole Morales (C.J.) and L.J. Perez; uncle of Blair Mayeux, Lincoln Mayeux, Steven Morales, and Sebastian Morales; and best friend to Joseph Tolpi, Gus Lara, Matthew Roach, and Lynda Ingle. Justin will be remembered by those close to him as an incredibly smart and compassionate individual with a talent for music and an ability to make people laugh. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of funeral services, friends and family will be invited to gather and share happy memories of Justin’s life at a later date.
