Julin Paul Meyer passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Cindy Meyer. Loving father of Alison Meyer Taylor (Nicholas). Son of the late John Meyer and Daisy Meyer. Brother of Marcus Meyer (Anne) and Sharon Meyer Tellez (Vince). He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Julin Paul Meyer was proud to have been born in the lower Ninth Ward. He spent his early childhood there, then moved to Arabi where he spent the rest of his life, and actually died (after a fierce fight against cancer) in his much cherished Old Arabi home. He was proud to have attended Nicholls State where he became Pledge Master and House Manager of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He retold endlessly his wonderful memory of the time spent with so many interesting and diverse fraternity brothers. He was proud of being a Cost Estimator for Brown & Root. Later, he spent many years in construction.
He was proud to become a family man by marrying teenage love Cindy, and so proud to become Papa to his beautiful daughter, Alison. He loved life, he loved his family, fishing, and driving his 2006 Chevy Silverado. He was known for his "inventions" that he came up with by improvising in his backyard haven.
He loved his large family gatherings where he had a reputation for "pigging out" on delicious food. He was the cook in the family, using some of his Cajun mom's recipes and concocting some of his own. He loved music of every genre, and loved the old movies and the classic actors of old. Julin loved, and was loved! He will be greatly missed!
