Julie Ann Moore McCune

In loving memory of Julie Ann Moore McCune, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. A life-long resident of Chalmette, she was the loving wife to the late Edward Vincent “Mac” McCune for 58 years. Caring mother to the late Janet Ann McCune Bordages; grandmother to John W. Bordages Jr., Joy Ann Bordages Dixon, and the late Jamie Renee Bordages; great-grandmother to 6 great–grandchildren; and “Nanny” to a host of loving nieces and nephews. Special recognition to her nephew Edward Jobe, and her devoted friends, Debbie & Armand Buuck, who were always there for her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Camella Moore; her siblings, Eliska Moore Christian, Ruby Moore Grainer and Joyce Moore Jobe Catanzaro.

Born on December 1, 1928, in New Orleans, LA, Julie built a legacy of love and connection with those whom she came in contact with. “Miss Julie” dedicated over 30 years of her life to serving the community through her work in the school cafeteria. Her warm smile and caring nature brightened the days of countless children and staff members. Before and after Hurricane Katrina, she showed immense resilience. Her presence at McDonald's during those challenging times demonstrated her unwavering commitment to her work and community, providing comfort and support to those in need. Julie's greatest love was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support were the foundation of her family's strength. Her kind-hearted spirit will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace, knowing that her love and kindness live on in the hearts of all those she touched over many years and generations.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY of PROMPT SUCCOR, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM. A funeral mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS. A small family gathering will be held immediately following the burial at her residence, 97 E Claiborne Square, Chalmette.
