John Forest Gilmore Jr.

John F. Gilmore Jr. passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the age of 75. He was the cherished husband of Jacqueline Lovell Gilmore for 57 years. Loving father of John F. Gilmore III (Connie), Bryan K. Gilmore (Joy), Donna Gilmore (Desi) and Jill Marie Kenyon (Chris). Son of the late Jessie Simon Gilmore and John F. Gilmore Sr. Brother of Patricia Bordelon (Leonard), Curtis Gilmore, Mae Jean Gilmore, Annette Sandoz (the late Merlin) and the late Ronald Gilmore (Bernadine) & Ralph Gilmore. Proud grandfather of Amy Serigne, Eric Gilmore (Allyson), Bryan K. Gilmore Jr. (Emma) and Brooke Gilmore. Great grandfather of Ethan, Paisley and Carsen. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. John was a native of New Orleans and a long time resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was an employee of The Laitram Corporation and retired after 33 years of service. John enjoyed hunting and fishing, he especially loved spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
