Joan Rita Meyer passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. She was 89 years old. She was the devoted mother of Donald Meyer (Donna), Patricia Meyer (Bruce), and the late David Meyer; loving companion of Al Jirovec, Jr.; doting grandmother of Donnie, Daniel, Samantha, Ethan, Mark, Sharel, and 10 great-grandchildren; sister of Andrew V. Jackson (Carol) and the late Thelma Crespino (the late Chris); and “MawMaw” to Belinda Meyer and Samantha Meyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Isidore G. Meyer; her grandchild, the late Joshua; and by her parents, the late Andrew and Della Jackson. Joan also leaves behind many other relatives and dear friends.
A visitation will be held for Joan on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2320 PARIS ROAD, in Chalmette, followed by a Funeral Mass in her memory, at Noon. She will be laid to eternal rest in Greenwood Cemetery, in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, please consider having Masses said in Joan's name.
