George Joseph Gabb Jr.

George Joseph Gabb, Jr. passed away suddenly February 17, 2023. He was born on January 18, 1957, the son of the late George J. Gabb, Sr. and Elia C. Gabb. He is survived by his brother Glen Gabb (Cindy) and was preceded in death by his sister Sonia Evans (Ronnie). He was a loving Father to Elena Arredondo (Luke), Erica Blank (Chance), and George Gabb (single, ladies!). He was known and loved as “Old Fart” to his 9 grandchildren, Faustina, Chiara, Therese, Karol and Fulton Arredondo and Chance, Collin, Claire, and Camille Blank. He is also survived by his former high school sweetheart Marie Tassin, mother of his daughters, and cherished by his former spouse Marianne Gabb, mother to his son. He is survived by his nephews Ronnie and Matt Evans and Gregory Gabb. He was preceded in death by his wonderful niece Rachel Gabb and amazing nephew Paul Evans. George was known for his family gatherings where he boiled crawfish and served his famous “Who Dat” dip. George loved the Saints, beer, crawfish, crabs, and being with his kids and grandkids. He was a loyal friend to many and will be deeply missed. He was the quintessential “Naturally N’awlins.”

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, February 25th from 9:00AM – 12:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in George’s memory beginning at 12:00PM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 in New Orleans, LA.
