George Anthony Clark Sr. born in New Orleans, LA on February 13, 1951, he passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the age of 72. He was the beloved father of George Clark Jr. (Heather), Nicole Clark and John Clark. Proud grandfather of George Clark III, Caeden Clark, Cheyann Clark, Abigayle Guidry and Isabella Clark. Brother of Kay Dorcey (the late Bernie) and Diane Puderer (Roy). George was preceded in death by his parents John Joseph Clark Jr., Audrey Rabalais Clark and his brother John Joseph Clark III. George is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and his fur baby Lily Clark.
George leaves behind a legacy rich in devotion to family, service, and unwavering passion. A dedicated professional, George devoted 31 years to Schwegmann Brothers, followed by over a decade of committed service at St. Bernard Mosquito Control. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserve and embodied loyalty in every aspect of his life.
A graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1970, George carried his love for his hometown through his spirited support for Tulane and Saints Football, cementing his place as a die-hard fan.
George's laughter, warm heart and sociable nature knew no bounds; he never encountered a stranger. His love for sports and classic movies was eclipsed only by his joy in spending cherished moments with his children and grandchildren, who held the central place in his heart.
Grateful acknowledgments are extended to his sisters, Kay and Diane, for their unwavering support, and heartfelt thanks to Bonnie and Alex Alford for their pivotal role in maintaining home life. George's ex-wife, Debbie Hofer, stood as his trusted financial advisor and closest confidant.
In remembrance of George, his unwavering love for family, commitment to service, and the vibrant spirit he shared with all who knew him will forever be cherished, deeply missed and remembered fondly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, January 6th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a memorial service in his memory beginning at 11:00AM. George will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
