Eileen Gremillion Heggelund

Eileen Gremillion Heggelund, a vibrant and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on, Friday, November 29, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 79. Born on December 10, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Eileen brought her warmth and zest for life to everyone she met.

Eileen found joy in the simple and extraordinary moments of life. She was an avid sports fan, a lover of travel, and a devoted grandma who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Whether cheering on her favorite team or making memories with family, Eileen’s energy was captivating and her presence unforgettable.

She is survived by her loving family: her son, Jeffrey Michael Heggelund (Madeline Bailey), and his children, McKinley, Jace, and Harrison Heggelund; her son, Jason Andrew Heggelund (Alicia Bennett) and their daughter, Falyn Williams; her brother, Ronald Gremillion and his children Andre Gremillion, Phillip Gremillion, Trina Gremillion, and Toni Bergeron; her sister-in-law, Shari Orgeron, and her daughter-in-law, Joanna Spears, and her daughter, Aubrey Spears and many others including her besties, you know who you are. Eileen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William John Heggelund, Jr. with whom she shared many cherished years.

Eileen’s family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens on December 7, 2024 with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Her family invites you to remember Eileen for her laughter, her passion, and the love she shared so generously.
