Anastasia Spindler Broggi passed away peacefully on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the age of 94. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. She was the loving mother of Catherine Broggi Turnage, Judy Broggi Cochran, John Louis Broggi (Julie Dauphin Broggi) and Charmaine Broggi Raimondo. Loving sister of Beverly Spindler Spangler. Proud grandmother of Jennifer Turnage Gutierrez (John Gutierrez); William Turnage (Candace Pizzalato); Carrie Turnage Vargas, Danny Cochran, Kelly Cochran, Christopher Cochran Jr., Tracy Cochran Mills (Brian Mills); Joshua Broggi (Monica Mayer); Joseph Broggi (Carla Gaston); Genny Broggi Kline (Jeff Kline); and Elizabeth Raimondo Chaplain (Kerry Chaplain). Great grandmother of Connor Vargas, Elijah Gutierrez, Payton Turnage, Presley Turnage, Liam Turnage, Bryan Lyell, Christopher Cochran III, Madison Johns, Lathan Cochran, Isabella Mills, Carter Broggi, Giada Broggi, Oliver Broggi, Lillian Broggi, Zoe Broggi, Joseph “JJ” Broggi Jr., Amelia Kline, Reece Chaplain and Reid Chaplain. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Anastasia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years Joseph John Broggi; her mother Bertha Cain Spindler; her father Louis Spindler; her sister Elaine Spindler Prinz; and her brother Louis Spindler Jr.
Anastasia was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Albany, LA. Her biggest joy and deepest passion was her family. She loved each and every day, caring for her family and spoiling the grandchildren she adored so very much. She was an active and devoted parishioner of St. Louise de Marillac Community and a member of The Kaiser Steelworkers Retiree Club, The AARP Pakenham Chapter, and The St. Bernard Parish Council on Aging. She was well loved and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. Anna’s love for dancing and travel was surpassed only by the love for spending time with her family. She will forever be remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, March 20th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in Anastasia’s memory beginning at 11:00AM. She will be laid to eternal rest with her beloved husband Joseph in a private ceremony in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA on Monday, March 22nd at 10:00AM.
