Allie Leroy Crocker passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the age of 93. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, sharing so many stories and memories.
Leroy was the beloved husband of 63 wonderful years to the love of his life, Gladys Idaline Morris Crocker. Loving father of Steven L. Crocker (Cindy), Shirley C. Hansford and the late Susan C. Lauga (Paul Jr.). Son of the late Allie Jadie Crocker and Iola Deason Crocker. Brother of Clyde “Ted” Frederick Crocker, James Nelson Crocker, Barbara Janice Jamison, Gail Elizabeth Jones, Martha Carolyn Crocker and the late Billy Wayne Crocker. Proud grandfather of Paul Lauga III, Samantha Lynn Stubbs (Adam), Elaine Allie Lauga, and Joshua Michael Hansford (Chelsea). Great grandfather of Gemma Rae Hansford, Jayden Nicole Hansford, Jack Arthur Hansford, Asher Leroy Stubbs, Addison Louise Stubbs and Saige Everleigh Lauga. He is also survived and affectionately remembered by numerous cousins, relatives and dear friends.
Born in Sprott, AL, Allie spent many years as a devoted member of the St. Bernard Parish community before settling in Lacombe. He enjoyed a 32-year career at Kaiser Aluminum, where he worked as a Furnace Operator and held several leadership positions within the Union. His strong work ethic and commitment to his profession were matched only by his dedication to those around him. Allie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952. His service helped form his strong character, and he continued to live his life with the same sense of duty and integrity that he displayed during his military years. In his personal life, Allie was a devoted Boy Scout leader, a past member of Covenant Methodist Church and a proud member of the Masons, where he honorably served twice as Past Master.
Those who knew Allie appreciated his deep love for the details of everyday life and his immense care for others. He found joy in the simple things and took great pleasure in spoiling his grandchildren. His laughter, loving spirit, and loyalty to his family will be forever cherished. His life was a shining example of generosity, compassion, and the importance of family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, who will forever miss his warmth and his love. Rest in peace, dear Allie. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS CEMETERY, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, December 17th beginning at 11:00AM. He will be laid to eternal rest with his beloved wife, Gladys.
