William Robert “Bill” Curtis, age 42, of Eutaw, AL entered into rest on February 29, 2024 at Bibb Medical Center in Centreville, AL. He was born September 17, 1981 in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Dan and Martha (McQueen) Curtis.
Bill graduated from Bibb County High School in 2000 where he spent two years drumming in the band and two years playing football. He was a member of Centreville Baptist Church where he was once a loyal member of the youth group. Bill loved his country and while a senior in high school he joined the Alabama National Guard unit in Centreville and served as long as his health allowed.
Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, video games and Alabama football, but above all he loved spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed taking part in the numerous ballgame parties and cookouts hosted by his brother Danny. Although Bill’s actual family was small, his chosen family was extensive with too many loving and caring members to list.
Even though his life was challenging due to his medical condition, he tackled every obstacle with courage, determination and a positive attitude. His loving nature and warmhearted hugs will be missed by all.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful caregivers at the Bibb Medical Center Nursing Home and to Cassy Jacobe and Jennifer Dockery of Eutaw, AL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Oaks in Centreville, AL on March 23 with the Reverends John Hambright and Ken Fuller officiating. Receiving of friends and visitation with family will be from 12:30 to 1:00 with the service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Brain Tumor Association at http://www.abta.org or Centreville Baptist Church.
