Kenneth Thomas “Tom” Thrasher, age 87, of Hoover, AL entered into eternal rest in Pell City, AL on March 28, 2019. He was born in Bibb County Alabama on February 9, 1932 to Charles Conrad Thrasher and Gracie Gertrude Majors Thrasher. He is survived by his wife for 52 plus years, Peggy Joyce Veitch Thrasher; daughters, Tracy M. Thrasher of Hoover, AL and Leephether Mikovitz(Donald) of Carrollton, GA; son, K T Thrasher, Jr. of Carrollton, GA; sister, Sue T. Lowery(John D) of Woodstock, AL; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; along with many cousins whom he dearly loved. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Gertrude Thrasher; wife, Catherine Ann Snowden Thrasher; brother, Paul L. Thrasher; sisters, Kathryn T. Cost and Nelle T. Battle.
Tom served in the Navy during Korea and Vietnam and was a coal miner. He love fishing, book, stamp and coin collecting. He served as Deacon and Treasurer of Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church; Secretary of Little Hope Assn. and was a member of the United Mine Workers.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11 AM at Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church with burial in Kinard Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Elder Wayne Crocker and Brother Ronald Crocker officiating. Rockco Funeral Home Centreville directing.
Pallbearers will be nephew, Mark Carroll, granddaughter, Leslie Danielle Skinner, great grandson, Jacob Danny Carroll, great grandson, Ty Goodwin, grandson in law, Derek Mobley, great grandson, Thomas Chandler Gibson, Alternate: grandson, Charleston C. Thrasher, grandson, Kevin Thrasher and granddaughter, Joanie Thrasher. Honorary pallbearers, Jack Gentry and John D. Lowery.
