Herb graduated from W.F. West High School in Chehalis Washington in 1964. Soon after high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and earned two decorations. After leaving the Navy, he worked in the logging industry. Years later, Herb joined the Operating Engineers Union 612 for 40+ years. While working at Widco Coal Mine, he became one of the several legends there. He retired after working in the paving industry.
Herb's love of the outdoors and a lifetime of hunting and fishing. He started "Robinson's Guide Service" with his beloved boat the "Untamed".
Herb is survived by his two younger sisters Kay Anderson of Chehalis WA and Linda (Dan) Walker of Idaho; his children Mark (Melissa) Robinson of Centralia WA, Tara Robinson of Chehalis WA, Gina (Paul) Snow of Rochester WA, Shannon (Clark) Dutton of Montana, and Tanya (Jim) Baker of Tenino WA. He has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dad never met a stranger and had many lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life for Herb will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Skookumchuck Grange #584, 5345 Skookumchuck Rd SE, Tenino, WA 98589. Bring a side dish if you wish. Big T BBQ will be catering the main dish.
