Carol Lee Wood

Carol attended Mossyrock School from first grade through graduation in 1954. She went to Centralia Business School for one year, then was employed at what is now Wells Fargo Bank, in Chehalis. She later went to work at the Department of Licensing at the Lewis County Court House.

Carol Married Stan Wood in 1957. The couple had their first child, Susan, in 1959. While in Arizona, they had their son Scott in 1963.

Due to Stan’s time in the army and career as a microbiologist, they lived in many locations. While in California, they were divorced. Eventually, Carol moved back to Lewis County to be near her mother. She then went on to work for many years at Thousand Trails, as store manager, where she enjoyed meeting people from all over. She was such a “people person”! When she retired, she became a master gardener, where she made many more friends. She also volunteered at the Lewis County Historical Museum for many years, until her health started to decline in September of this year.

Carol was the most loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Family always came first in her life. She will be dearly missed and thought of often by all of her friends and family who loved her.

Carol was preceded in death by both of her parents, her previous husband, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Gene) Gonzales of Chehalis and their children, Alicia and Jeffrey; son Scott of California and his children, Redd, Ellee, Sarah, and Ben; Sister Judy (Fleming) Breen of Chehalis; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11am, Monday, December 18, at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, 1437 S Gold St. Centalia. Private interment will be held after the service at Salkum Cemetery.
