Annie Delores Kennedy Tyler passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the age of 92. Born December 1, 1930 in Bogalusa, LA, she was the eldest child of Verdie Mae Bulloch Kennedy and John Benton Kennedy and resided in Baton Rouge since 1937. She attended Asia Street Elementary School, Beauregard Elementary School, Baton Rouge Jr. High School and graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1948. She also attended Spencer Business College and later graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. degree in Education. In 1952, she married C. Alvin Tyler, a newly graduated attorney and worked with him to establish his law practice. She was the loving and devoted mother of Attorney John Louis Tyler of Baton Rouge and Jill Adair Tyler of Grosse Tete, LA and doting “Granny” to Chad Elliott Tyler of Baton Rouge, Cory Benton Tyler of Livingston, LA and Jackson Tyler Camel of Lafayette, LA. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Istrouma Baptist Church, a member of the BRHS Alumni Association and the American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer for Red Cross, Cub Scouts and the Brownies. She was a great Southern cook, a generous and compassionate giver to family, friends and those in need in the community, loved conversing with people, planning and creating special occasions, and was considered an expert on old movies. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters, Patsy S. Kennedy of Baton Rouge and Betty K. Locke of Central, LA. She is survived by her sister, Lee K. McElveen (husband Robert) of Slidell, LA, nieces Ginger C. Watts of Killian, LA, Lu Thibodeaux of Central, LA, and Dr. Cathy McElveen (husband Dr. Alan Del Castillo) of Montrose, CA, and by nephew Ken (Bunker) Watts (wife Susan) of Mart, TX; also grandnieces Tori Thibodeaux Bogan (husband, J.D.) of Zachary, Madison Thibodeaux of Zachary, Attorney Lindsay W. Sanchez (husband, Blain) of Baton Rouge, Neal Watts (wife, Dr. Amanda Watts) of Central Amanda Harris (husband, Dr. Joe Harris) of Tulsa Oklahoma, and Catherine, Corinne and Dahlia Del Castillo of Montrose, CA ; great-grandnieces Aubri, Adleigh and Aidyn Ella Watts of Central, Amelia and Kathryn Bogan of Zachary, numerous cousins, and very dear friend, Helen D'Arensbourg of Livingston, LA.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 8th, at 1030 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery on North Street, Baton Rouge.
