Shirley I Goss

Shirley Irene Goss,91, of Old Lyme, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 8, 1932 to John Andrew Hart and Millie Fordham. Shirley was a devoted employee to the Old Lyme United States Postal Service for over 26 years. Shirley enjoyed contributing her time to the Old Lyme Grange, The Estuary, as well as Deep River and Westbrook Fife and Drum Corp.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Ronald (Laura), and John Goss, Daughter-in-Law, Laura Goss,6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and her sisters, Millicent Brooks, Marion Taylor, Sharon Lewis and Joanne Lisee. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, her husband Wilber Goss Jr., and her son Wilber Goss III.

A Visitation will be held for Shirley on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT 06409. A graveside service will follow at Duck River Cemetery, 12 McCurdy Rd, Old Lyme, CT 06371, at 1:15 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
