Carol A. Smith

Carol A. (LaMark) Smith, 64, of Deep River died at Yale-New Haven Hospital on June 11, 2015. Devoted mother of Christine Alio and her husband James and Richard Smith all of Deep River. Carol was born in Pittson, PA, daughter of the late Anthony & Eileen (Hogan) LaMarco. She graduated from Whitney Point High School in Whitney Point, NY and has lived here over 45 years. For the past 10 years she has worked for Quest Diagnostic as a phlebotomist earning many accolades for her compassionate care to her patients. Carol was on the Town Committee in Deep River, a member of the Swede club and was actively involved in many fundraisers for anyone who needed help in her community. But truly she will be remembered as the Best Grandma of Madison, Mia, Samantha and the late Carter. She is also survived by her siblings; John LaMark of Clinton, Jerry LaMark of Deep River, Theresa LaMark of Deep River, William LaMarco of Old Saybrook, Eileen LaMark of Old Saybrook, Michael LaMark of West Hartford and Patrick LaMark of Old Saybrook. Carol is also survived by Dick Smith of Deep River, father to her children and dear friend. In addition to her parents Carol was predeceased by her brothers Santo, Joseph, James, Samuel and David. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 5-8pm at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday from St. Joseph's Church, Chester at 10:30am. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
