Bill was born on June 18, 1968, to William Earl Badger III (Earl) and Susan Jane Doyle (Susie) at the Holloman Air Force Base hospital in southern New Mexico. Raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he graduated from St. Pius High School in 1986. With a love for the mountains and an avid skier, Bill moved to Colorado and obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, followed by a MA degree in Mass Media & Communications from the University of Denver.
He started his career working for World Explorer cruises in Alaska and continued to sail with them on Semester at Sea. Bill then launched 25-year career in strategic communications, program management, sales and business development for CH2MHill (Kaiser Hill and their subsidiaries), AECOM, and finally Amentum. His particular focus was leading collaborative teams in pursuit of complex and technically challenging nuclear programs.
In 1997, Bill and Cheryl met and were married in 1999. They shared a love of traveling and both worked on the Semester at Sea in 2000. Bill and Cheryl had four beautiful children: Brianna Demi (Sept 9, 2002 to April 25, 2006), Liam Charles (June 10, 2004), Landon Quinn (June 15, 2007), and Alexa Chelsea (July 20, 2009). Bill and Cheryl raised their kids to be compassionate for life and travel.
Bill was a force of nature and was fiercely passionate about his family and friends. He was a stranger to none and a friend to all. His infectious smile lit up the room, and he was always available for a belly laugh or a shoulder to cry on. He was passionate about gardening and keeping a meticulously landscaped yard. Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, and son, and will be sorely missed.
Bill is survived by his father Earl Badger, mother Susan Doyle, and stepfather Roger Blair; in-laws Brian and Jackie Redrupp; wife Cheryl; children Liam, Landon and Alexa; sisters Rebecca Peterson, Rachel Badger, and Ava Badger.
