Virginia Whaley Cruickshank departed on March 26, in Highlands Ranch, CO. Virginia (Ginger), loving wife of John, was born Virginia Belle Whaley to the late Emory and Mabel Whaley, on February 5, 1924, in Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from Texhoma High School, Texhoma, Oklahoma. She was happily married to John Cruickshank for 55 years and enjoyed living in Colorado after moving there in 1995. Virginia and John lived in many different cities and states to accommodate the travel necessary for John's career in the oil and gas industry. They lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado. During those years, Virginia had many different careers, but most enjoyed owning a successful employment and temporary help agency in Casper, Wyoming from 1970 - 1985. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of her family and others who were fortunate enough to have known her. Virginia will be remembered for her boundless energy, strength and determination. Virginia was a very involved member of the United Methodist Church and a member of PEO sorority. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, and her siblings, Earl Whaley, Goldie Pugh, and Bettye Spencer. Beloved mother of three children: Jonalyn (Raoul) Robert of Baton Rouge, LA, Steven (Deanne) Cruickshank of Lone Tree, CO and Marylee (John) Ramirez of Centennial, CO. Loving grandmother of six grandchildren, Dr. William Robert, Jon Robert, Leah Robert, Amy Cruickshank Jennings, Tyler Cruickshank and Jack Ramirez. The funeral service honoring Virginia's life will be held on Saturday, March 31, at 2:00 pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Alzheimer's Association , Colorado Chapter.
