Born October 2, 1939 to Milo and Verna in Norwalk, Ohio, he grew up in Michigan and attended Bloomfield Hills High School. After graduating from Otterbein College in 1963, Tom went on to serve as a captain in the Air Force in Goose Bay, Labrador, and later worked for Boddington Lumber Company for 35 years.
On August 22, 1964, Tom married Sigrid Persson, a fellow Otterbein student who also hailed from Ohio. Together they ventured out to start a new life in Colorado. They were married for nearly 60 years!
Along with their three children, they relished their time together at the cabin in Hall Valley, hiking in the mountains, and building campfires by the stream. Tom’s friendships spanned decades and all phases of his life. His dry sense of humor was matched only by his love for his four-legged companions.
Tom Sharp is survived by his wife, Sigrid; sister, Nancy Alderman; three children and their spouses, Erik and Kim Sharp, Wendy and Curt Compton, and Grady and Dena Sharp; six grandchildren, Kailee, Kelsee, Ashley, Cate, Calvin, and Brigid; and, of course, his loyal companion Faith.
The funeral will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121 on Saturday, February 4, at 2 p.m., followed by a reception. The service can be livestreamed at 2:00pm MST with the following link
