September 9, 1925 – April 26, 2020
The family of Selden W. Turner of Englewood, Colorado is heartbroken to inform you of his death from COVID-19. His passing was peaceful and quiet as was his way.
Married for 70 years to his surviving wife Irene Turner, he was the father of Marilyn Powers of Lakewood, Becky Turner of Rosenberg, Texas, Vivian Turner of Aurora and Karen Englert who preceded him in death. Grandfather of Eric and Aaron Reed, Amber and Tiffany Blamey, Jason Babcock and Amanda Coe, Amy and Greg Englert. He also leaves eight Great Grandchildren.
He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
His life was filled with the joy of being with his family. He was an accomplished horseman, an avid hunter and fisherman, waterskied well into his 70’s, had a beautiful singing voice and yodeled while playing his guitar, played the harmonica, loved camping and having picnics with his family in the magnificent Colorado Rockies.
His passing leaves an enormous hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered as a quiet man of integrity and honor along with his selflessness, his wisdom and his love. The best of our memories of him will always be his clever wit, his humor and his laughter.
Our lives will never be the same without him. He was the best of all men.
