Four words that could best describe Rosa: Loyal, Faithful (which is the meaning of her middle name Fidelia), Loving and Gracious.
Rosa studied education at Central College in McPherson, Kansas where she met her beloved Bob Miller. She did love to teach whether it was early on in public school or later in Sunday Schools. She also diligently labored in food service at schools in Jefferson County, CO and the later at the Abbey, in Canon City, CO.
She was a very-caring and devoted wife and mother, grand and great-grand mother. Her love ensured that everyone around her was cared for and tended to. Her loving care was made evident by her hard work with loving hands and a pure heart. Always the supporter and encourager, Rosa was a gifted, loving lady, always helped her husband of nearly 68 years Bob run a very busy, but blessed household.
With four sons and one daughter, she and her devoted husband Bob worked hand in hand with their love for each other and jointly they saw to sacrificial care their family and serve their local church. Their loving Lord was at the center of their relationships, so the family had a great exposure to their faith in God. The children remember their folks doing regular scripture readings, devotions and faithfully attending their local congregation. So deeply appreciated, Rosa regularly prayed for her childrens, grand and great grandchildren and was oh so very proud of them.
Rosa loved to paint pictures in her early years, loved watching hummingbirds, butterflies, and especially loved dogwood, and beautiful flowers. She collected owls, cardinals, souvenir spoons from different cities, states and countries.
She loved to can from the garden; apples, apple butter, green beans, and pear honey, lime green and bread and butter pickles. She loved to bake, and cook and sew. She always dressed nicely everywhere she went and adored wearing lovely brooches/pins. In her sunset years, she grew very fond of pizza, Arby’s Reuben sandwiches, soup and raspberry tea. And she loved reading, especially Christian Romance Novels, and watching the series Heartland, about a girl and her family who live and work on a ranch by that name, where they help heal abused and mistreated horses.
Rosa is preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Henry & Glennie, sisters Trulie, Nellie and Berna, and nearly 8 years ago, her beloved husband, Robert Miller.
She is survived by her Children, Sons; Raymond (Jocille), Harvey (Claudia), Elvin (Debbie) and Loren (Tammy), and Daughter; Elaine (Randy).
Rosa had 12 Grandchildren; Carey (Jim), Jaysen (Rachel), Allen (Carly), Meredith (Shawn), Bryan (Stacey), Aaron (Carrie), Jameson (Katie), John (Tina), Raul (Ksenia), Benjamin, Stacy (Ryan), and Michael.
She had 24 Great-grandchildren; Lydia, Tabitha, Taylee, Ezra, Selah, Audrey, Wesley, Austin, Taylor, Bryson, Avery, Declan, Brooklyn, Wyatt, Lexington, Eliezer, Nathaniel, Nicole, Esperanza, Solomon, Elizabeth, Baruch, Diego, and William.
And numerous Nephews and Nieces and other Relatives and Dear Friends.
Rosa was such an amazing lady, she is deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
“We are today who we are, thanks to you and God, Mom!”
