Ronald K. Craft, 77, Littleton, passed away peacefully, on July 14th. He was born in Stanley, North Dakota, and graduated from the University of North Dakota in accounting. After college, he served his nation as a supply officer in the Navy for three years. He went on to his first job as a staff accountant with Arthur Andersen in Minneapolis. Later, he moved to Colorado and became the Controller, and then the Vice President of Finance for CF&I Steel Corporation. He ended his public career as Deputy Finance Director for the City of Aurora where he was frequently voted Boss of the Year. After retirement, he served as the CFO of Child Diagnostics, Inc., a private educational consulting business he and his wife owned, in Denver. He worked in that role for the next 10 years. Ron was often referred to the “nicest man in the world.” His family referred to him as a “Serotonin Donor” for his ability to bring harmony to every situation, a remarkable skill. He married the love of his life, Dianne in 1967. They built a wonderful life together. He was known for his love for Jesus, and deftly made the Bible come alive with his colorful story telling. He was a huge history buff and reader. His wise advice often was likened to the character, Yoda. He loved to stay fit by hiking with his family and was always up for a game of Rummikub, and since numbers were his friends, he almost always won. As an avid sports fan, he and his son had season Broncos tickets and were fans for years. His presence always made things more fun!
He is survived by his wife, Dianne; children; Sheri and Curt, and grandchildren; Jacob, Cassie, Brett, Keith, Kaylin, Eric and great grandchild, Della. He is survived by his siblings, Jim, Mike and sister Karen. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was so proud of all their accomplishments and just who they were. Wherever he was, things were always better.
