Robert Allen Caughey, age 98, was born in Silverton, Colorado on November 12, 1924. He resided in Lakewood, Colorado when he passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023. He died at home in the company of his wife Ruth Isabel.
Robert liked to be called Bob. Bob was the eldest child of Allen George “Peck” Caughey and Belle Elizabeth “Polly” Tinker. He grew up in the Durango area along with his little sister Mary Ellen.
Bob served in the Army and Army Air Corps during World War II and the Korean War. His service took him as far as Okinawa, Morocco, and England.
Bob had a love of travel and of meeting people from around the world. His career as a geological engineer took him many places. He loved to tell the stories of his adventures, one of which was meeting the love of his life Ruth. They had many travels together in their 53 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, daughters Rebecca Lorraine Cocoros & Elaine Marie Caughey, son Robert Michael Caughey, six grandchildren and his great grandchildren.
