At the age of 7, Richard "Dick" Nagel left New Jersey with his dad and his sister in search of their new home out West. They decided on Boulder, Colorado and his mother joined them shortly after. They moved to Boulder Canyon where the family lived through Dick's college years. He attended Boulder High and the University of Colorado.
In 1961, Dick met his wife Karan and they were married on June 12, 1964. They made their home in Boulder were they both worked and began thinking about starting a family. Their oldest son, Corey, was born on November 2, 1968 followed shortly after by Chad, who was born on July 15, 1970.
Dick was very proud of his 33 year career as a Manufacturer's Representative with the Roy J. O'Donnell Company. In the winter of 1981, Dick's work took him to Salt Lake City, Utah where the family resided through the summer of 1988. Dick and Karan then relocated back to Southwest Denver where they lived until 2004. In November of 2004, they moved to Southern California to be closer to their Grandchildren who had just been born.
Dick and Karan's last move would bring them back to Denver where they lived until his passing.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Karan; his son Corey and his wife Jennifer of Scottsdale AZ and son, Chad of Denver; his grandchildren Madelyn (22) and Chase (20).
A memorial service for Richard will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
