Joyce Gleed Knight, age 93, of Littleton CO passed away peacefully on December 20, 2021. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Joyce was born to Nellie Sasser Gleed and Julius Guy Gleed in Malad, Idaho on December 19, 1928. Joyce was married for 67 ½ years to Bruce Relyea Knight (deceased). They raised 3 sons Noel, Neil, and Ned.
Joyce grew up in Malad, Idaho, and attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, where she graduated in Cosmetology, and was the Homecoming Queen as a freshman. Joyce’s greatest joy was her family, where she supported Bruce and her 3 sons and all their activities. She was a masterful candy maker. She made the best cherry, orange and raspberry filled chocolates. The family was always anticipating her candy at Christmas time.
When Bruce retired from work, they continued to explore the great USA in their trailer. They went to all 50 states. They would go for months at a time and always had great stories to tell and pictures to show their family. Bruce and Joyce had a great time wintering in Casa Grande, Arizona with several dear friends for many years. They loved the Broncos football team and would always be decked out in Bronco regalia. They also loved the Colorado Rockies, and were season ticket holders for many years. They went to the first ever Rockies home game. Joyce and Bruce always loved to dance and would show their kids how to do the Jitter-Bug. They could really “cut-a-rug”.
Joyce is survived by her sister Diane (Barry) Treasure, her brother Blair (Diane-deceased) Gleed, and sons Noel (Elizabeth), Neil (Tammy), Ned (Debbie), (9) grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Relyea Knight, her parents Nellie Sasser Gleed and Julius Guy Gleed, her sister Joan Broman and her brothers and Sisters-In-Law, J Guy (Neola) Gleed Jr., and Darl (Jenna Lee) Gleed.
