Janice Kinder Zapapas

Jan was born on July 15, 1955, to James and Ruth Kinder in Carmel, IN. She attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel grade school and Carmel High School. She graduated from Purdue University, married James Zapapas in 1977, and moved to Colorado, where they raised their four amazing daughters.

Jan’s life was driven not only by her roles as Mother and Wife, but by a desire to use wholly the talents that God had given her, in all areas of her life. Jan worked throughout her career managing personnel, finances, and solving problems in various management positions. She cherished the time spent and relationships built at J.D. Edwards, the Archdiocese of Denver and Catholic Foundation, Cherry Creek Mortgage, and several others.

Jan spent her life generously giving of her time, talent, and treasure, teaching high school confirmation classes, serving on nonprofit boards, and bringing God’s love to others in a wide variety of ministries. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, and treasured her time with CRHP, Angel Tree, ENDOW, taking Holy Communion to Sunrise Nursing Home, and her larger Christian community friends.

Jan is survived by her husband, Jim, her daughters Laura (Adam), Michelle, Mary, and Kelly (Myles), brothers David (Judy) and Steven (Lori), sister Carole, and her beloved grandchildren, Evelyn, Henry, and Clare.

Her funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More, in Centennial, CO on Monday December 12, at 11am, preceded immediately by a Rosary.
