Born in Florida to Jerry and Peggy Hurley. Dennis's parents divorced when he was young and Jerry remarried Mausie who continued to help raise him.
After high school he joined the Navy. After his discharge he married and divorced Peggy (Young). They had one child together, Erin.
He enjoyed a long career in the construction industry and was proud of his job as a superintendent.
Dennis met Rose Walters in 1996 and they enjoy a long life together.
He enjoyed all things music, enjoyed singing and dancing with Rose or anyone willing! Dennis and Rose were lovers of all local bands and were willing to go anywhere in town to listen to their favorites.
He also loved going on walks, to the flea market and to thrift stores every week with Erin.
Predeceased by his parents, brother, Michael, sister Judy and first wife Peggy.
Survived by his loving wife Rose Walters, daughter Erin (Brent) Mikkelson, siblings Bill (Arly) Hurley and Pattie McHendry; Rose's daughter Debbie, granddaughters Sheena Walters and Marina (Jeff) Mallon, and great granddaughters Harper Mallon and Symphony Walters. Lots and Lots of family in Hill City, Kansas and too many friends from town to list.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 13th from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with remembrances and food from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and Parkside Band playing from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Final resting place will be Olinger Mt. Lindo Cemetery at a later date.
