Debbie was born on June 4, 1962, to Robert Romero and Elafar Trujillo in Denver, Colorado. She immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Debbie went on to graduate from Sheridan High School in 1980. After graduating from high school, Debbie went to work at Wilkerson Corp, where she rekindled her high school friendship with Paul Martinez.
Shortly after working together in different sections of the factory, their love became true, and in just a few short months, the two were inseparable. After defying Ella's wishes, the two moved in together in the summer of 1982. A few years later, Paul joined the Army, and in December of 1985, Paul and Debbie got married, making Debbie an army wife for 20 years. Throughout their years in the military, they moved to 4 different states and 1 foreign country, and they survived 6 deployments overseas together.
Paul and Debbie were married for over 38 years and had two daughters, Roberta and Rebecca. Debbie was a fiercely dedicated mom to both of her children, raising them both (often by herself while Paul was deployed overseas) to go on to accomplish many great things. Family came first and was above all else to Debbie, a value she instilled in all those around her. Debbie was a proud grandmother of two grandchildren, Alena and David. The hole left by her absence is and will be impossible to fill.
Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ella. She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughters, Roberta and husband Christopher Martinez-Ortiz; daughter Rebecca and Benjamin Rabinoff; sister Diane and husband Jerry Barros; and two grandchildren, Alena and David.
