Betty lived most of her life in Boulder and Denver. She graduated with degrees in Music and Education from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1952. Having dedicated her life to music, Betty was Choir Director at many local churches, most notably Calvary Baptist Church, where she was Minister of Music. Betty was also Choir Director at Aurora Hill Baptist Church, and Smokey Hill Baptist Church. Betty was a member of Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. In addition, she volunteered as piano player for the Children’s Choir at Cherry Creek Pres.
For 25 years, Betty directed the music for the Empire Lyric Players, putting on many Gilbert & Sullivan productions. She directed a ladies group called Jubilation Singers, which performed in local nursing homes. She was a voice teacher for so many. Betty also loved opera and southwest art, and enjoyed traveling on cruise ships. Betty attended a weekly Bible Studies group, forming many friendships everywhere she went.
Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Eppinger; step daughter, Lisa Cameron; step son, Greg Cameron; and grandchildren Liz Perrott and Eli Nygren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Cameron; and son, Paul Eppinger.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 pm, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary. Graveside Services will be held following visitation, at 2:00 pm in Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery.
