Annette M. Harres, beloved Mother, Nana and friend to so many passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side on Sunday, October 14, 2018 after a hard fought battle against cancer. She was 71 years old.
Annette was born December 5, 1946 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 14 years, Preble G. Harres and her parents, Grace Evelyn (German) Rakes and A. Kilby Rakes. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Grace Atkinson; her son, David A. Atkinson and his children; J. Kilby Atkinson and Dixie Jade Atkinson - all of Denver, Colorado; also by her brothers, Thom (Denise Matroni) Rakes of Wilmington, NC and their daughter, Maureen (Brian) Connor of Raleigh, NC and Jack (Randy) Rakes of Visalia, CA and many other loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 26th at 2pm with reception afterwards - Hope United Methodist Church, 5101 S Dayton St. Greenwood Village, CO 80111. A committal service will begin at 12:30pm, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
