Dolores, known to her family as “Sis” and “Nana” was born on February 22, 1930, to James Joseph Murphy and Alma Regina Webbert in Baltimore, MD.
The youngest of 13 children, and the last of the Murphy girls. Dolores lived on Hollins St. in Baltimore City where she would find and grow up with the love of her life, Francis W. Kelly. Married for 72 years, the couple raised 4 children, and have 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Her family was most important to her. Spirited and loving, she could make friends with anyone. She never cooked on the weekends, so off to her favorite diner they would go, and always starting the evening off with her favorite glass of wine.
She is survived by husband, Francis William Kelly, daughter, Patricia Kathleen Mattingly, son-in- law, Scott David Mattingly, son, Michael Patrick Kelly, daughter-in-law, Frances Evelyn Kelly, son, Brian Francis Kelly, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Lynn Smith. She is also survived by grandchildren Kelly Harden, Timothy Mattingly, Danielle Ray, Kimberly Harp, and Tara Wrightson, and great grandchildren Conner Harden, Madisyn Harp, Morgan Harp, Lucas Ray, and Addison Ray.
She is preceded in death by her son, Timothy James Kelly.
A visitation for Dolores will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. A committal service will occur Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Rd., Owings Mills, MD 21117.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her memory to the Greater Maryland Chapter Alzheimer’s Association online or by mailing a check to 502 Washington Ave Suite 300 Towson, Maryland 21204 (www.alz.org).
