Robert “Bob” Michael Ducharme, age 75, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, in Castle Rock. He was born on October 12, 1949, in Michigan, the son of Robert Martin and Mabel Olga (Karg) Ducharme. Bob married Lucy Roybal in 1987, and they celebrated 37 years of marriage together before his passing.
Raised in Michigan, Bob grew up quickly and learned how to work hard. As a child, Bob found a second family in the Davis family, who lived and worked on a neighboring farm and became an integral part of his life.
At the age of 17, Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, where he served honorably and received the Army Commendation Medal at the age of 20. After his military service, he and his family moved to Colorado, where he began a career at Coors, working for 21 years before retiring. Even in retirement, Bob’s commitment to hard work never wavered, as he continued to take on various jobs as a testament to his work ethic.
In his younger years, Bob was an avid Harley-Davidson rider who took great pride in keeping his bike and vehicles immaculate. He had a love of cars, country music, and his garage. For those lucky enough to spend time with Bob, the garage was more than just a space—it was a haven of laughter, and stories, complete with cold Coors Light, the twang of old country music, and tales from Bob’s past.
Bob had a deep passion for helping anyone in need and a boundless love for his family. He was a man who gave and received love freely, and his family cherished him beyond words. Bob didn’t just deserve the love he was given; he inspired it through his kindness, and generosity, for those around him.
Bob will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor, his heart of gold, and his legendary “Bob-isms”— sayings that his family will carry forward. His more recent passions included a fondness for sour gummy candy, ice cream, and a very specific type of M&M.
Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Lucy; children, Lisa (Eric), Nicole, Paul (Rochelle), and Leslie; grandchildren, Jericha, Megan, Grace, Martin, Felisha, Cole, Shae, Addison, Evelyn, Jessica (Charles), Amanda (Cole), Greggory, Sabrina, Anthony, Anna, and Sophia; and six great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by three brothers, one sister, numerous nieces and nephews, and the Davis family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Randy, and his daughter Shawna.
The love Bob gave to the world will echo for years to come, as will the love he inspired in return. His impact on those who knew him is immeasurable and will be felt long into the future. We will miss him.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. Please check back for updates on service details.
