Norma Lee was a beautiful and sweet lady that had a smile on her face even in her time of trauma. Her smile was infectious and brought joy to everyone. She loved being with her family especially during birthday celebrations. She also considered her beloved Miniature Schnauzers, Skipper, Max and Isabella as part of the family. She took pride in a clean house that was filled with many pictures of family memories. Violets were always blooming in her home along with many other varieties on window sills and in her gardens. She liked to travel with her husband and made trips to China, Canada and numerous places in the United States including Hawaii and Alaska.
Norma Lee Forsyth was born at the Forsyth family farm east of Griswold on February 27, 1927 to Clara Morton Forsyth and Earl T Forsyth. She went to country school through the 6th grade until she attended Griswold school from 7th through graduation in May of 1944. She taught at the Donahue Country School for one year and then worked at Murberger grocery store in Griswold. In 1946 she married Marlin Tye and to this union, Diana was born. Later in 1951, she married Berdon Fickel. To this union Kathryn Moore was born. They lived in Macedonia and Alantic before moving to Colorado in 1974 She was employed at Beaudines lamp shade and Super Value in Atlantic and then worked at Unipac and Woolworths after moving to Colorado. She married Charles Raymond Cousins on November 28, 2003 in Castle Rock, Colorado where she resided. She kept her home in Castle Rock and through the last eleven years they have traveled between the two residences.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tom, her husband Berdon, and her nephew Kevin,
She is survived by her husband, Charles Raymond, her daughters Diana (Keith) Bramer from Castle Rock, Colorado, Kathy (Lawrence) Moore from Council Bluffs, Iowa, grandchildren: Missy, Dawn, Crystal, Dena, and Todd, 11 great grandchildren Step children Marilyn Olsen from Sioux City Iowa, Kenneth (Stephanie)Cousins from Griswold, Mary (Max) Potter from Griswold, Beverly (Mike) Munden from Wintergarden, Florida; step grandchildren: Derek, Kendra, Alycia, Landon, Brent, Carrie, Marie, Heather, David; and 11 step great grandchildren; niece Teresa Forsyth (Sempeck) and nephew Danny Forsyth.
