Magdalene was born on Jan. 5, 1924, the youngest of seven children to Levi and Mary Magdalene (Beechy) Miller in Wellman, Iowa.
Maggie grew up in a Christian home, and the local Mennonite Church was an important part of her life. Most recently, Maggie was a member of the Parker Hills Bible Fellowship. She also attended a small eight person school in the Wellman area and spoke both German and English. After her schooling, she worked at home and for other families.
On Dec. 15, 1940, Maggie was united in marriage to Delmar M. Stutzman. They made their home in Iowa before moving to Colorado. After all the children were grown, Maggie worked as a supervisor custodian at the Parker Junior High. She retired after 11 years in 1989.
She loved working in her yard and observing the wildlife, German Shepherds, crafts, quilting and sewing but she especially loved her family.
Maggie is survived by her seven children, Judy (Robert) Selzer, Pat (Larry) Leichty, Gary (Beverly) Stutzman, Diane (Robert) Lewis, Galen (Cheryl) Stutzman, Connie (Dan) Gammon, and Pamela (Robert) Graham; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made in Maggie’s name to the Vanderbelt Kennedy Center/Angelman Seizure Research, c/o Mandy Thomas, 37726 Pheasant Run, Elizabeth, CO 80107.
