James Martin Thomson, also know by those close to him as Jim, JT, or Papa Jim, was born in O'Neill, Nebraska on May 7, 1944 to Charlie and Gertrude (Conway) Thomson. JT was the third child out of four and the only son of Charlie and Gertrude.
JT had a successful career as a software engineer and worked for various companies through the years. In 2003 JT and Linda Lou were married in Loveland, Colorado. JT retired from the corporate world in 2003. It was at this time the cowboy in him returned, and a lover of the outdoors was back working the farm from sun up to sun down. JT enjoyed his fishing ponds, long trail rides by horse, train rides, and road trips. In his later years you could find JT and Linda Lou holding down "Our 4 acres," creating numerous memories over the years with the grandkids. JT had a real knack for building all kinds of things, but his bird feeders were the absolute best. Just ask the various birds that come to visit every day. The birds made sure JT was up and cleaning, watering, and feeding them the best bird seed in the Valley.
JT was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Gertrude; and sister Mary (Lamont) Miller. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Lou; sisters and brothers-in-law Ginny and Richard Weston, Vera and Lee Pietramale; sons Jason and Jeff; granddaughters Lexi and Taylor Thomson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
