Douglas Roy Everhart, 75 years old, son of the late Marie "Peg" (Philips) and Clyde Everhart, died in his sleep on December 8, 2024, after enduring the last decade of his life with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on November 11, 1949, in Pittsburgh, PA. Doug is survived by his four children (and spouses) Gretchen Everhart (Peter Frenchman), Susan Everhart, David (Everhart) Everig (Emily), and Emily Everhart; his siblings Nancy Johnson, Bruce Everhart (Jann), Paige Everhart; and his two grandchildren, Eva and Julia, and step-granddaughter Ashley. He is predeceased by his twin sister Donna Everhart and his brother Brian Everhart.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Doug was an intellect, a systems engineer with an Associate's in Applied Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology; a Bachelor's of Arts degree in mathematics from Oberlin College; and a Master's degree in Geodetic Engineering with a specialty in photogrammetry from The Ohio State University. He had many accomplishments in the workplace including numerous recognitions from Government agencies and a U.S. patent.
Doug was a charming man and had a way with the ladies, and did enjoy two loving marriages while they lasted. He was an excellent woodworker and photographer. In the end he had a good sense of timing, leaving this world before the start of the second Trump term. His sharp wit and dry sense of humor will be missed.
A memorial is to be held at Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Rochester, New York, in spring 2025. He will be remembered at the family gravesite in Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
