Debbie Carlson

Deborah Ann Carlson passed away on December 16, 2024 at the age of 72. She was born on August 1, 1952 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of Wayne and Barbara (Bendel) Hammen. Debbie married Robert D. Carlson on August 8, 1988 and they celebrated 37 years of marriage together.

Debbie was raised in Illinois before moving to Colorado in 1972. She was a graduate of Metro State College, receiving her bachelor’s degree focusing on accounting and finance for the oil and gas industry. She then worked as a CPA and a real estate investor until her retirement. She loved to be active in her community and was a member of Z Car Club of Colorado since 1984 and served as the treasurer for the Rocky Mountain Goats Foundation. In her spare time, Debbie fueled her sports car passion by attending car club rallies, traveling, fishing, and rooting for the Denver Broncos.

Debbie is survived by her husband Bob; siblings Mark Hammen and wife Sherry, Roselyn Hammen, Sarah Hammen, Rachael Hammen Berry and husband Daniel; nieces and nephews Daniel Hammen and wife Rachel and Grace Hammen; and great nephew John Wayne Hammen. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Peter Hammen.

According to Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
