8, 2015, after a long and arduous struggle with brain
cancer. He was born on July 21, 1953, at Mitchell
Air Force Base hospital, Long Island, New York. The
whole Roman military family moved to Colorado in
1954 to join the beginning efforts in building the Air
Force Academy then located at Lowry Air Force Base.
Thus began David’s long love for Colorado and
the mountains!
David was the son of Clarence Robert Roman and
Bernice Conover Roman, both deceased, and the
brother of Barry Robert Roman and Deborah Roman
Weeks who also predeceased him. He is survived by
his loving daughter and "cupcake" Andrea (James)
Flynn and granddaughters, Melanie, Kylee, and
Alivea. Remembering David also are his former wife,
Kris Roman; his sister, Judy Stephenson (Donald)
and brothers, Bruce Roman (Sharon) and Paul Roman
(Janine). In addition, he is survived by numerous
nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews
in addition to good friends with whom he spent
many hours.
As well as the Colorado mountains, David loved being
Pop-Pop to his granddaughters, motorcycles,
camping…especially at Grand Lake, speed boat
racing, the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, fast cars,
and his beloved dog, Sarge. After the brain tumor
diagnosis, David found much joy in volunteering his
time and assistance in the Aurora Public School
classrooms of his sister and his granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Brain
Tumor organization as David, with his family and friends, participated
in the Angel Walk for many years to raise funds for research. As
“memories are the legacy of love”, the family invites you to a visitation
on Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 2:00 until 4:00 to share your
special memories.
