Christine Marcella Moore passed away on January 14, 2021 at the age of 84. She was blessed to be home in Castle Rock with her husband, Frank, and loving caregivers until she was hospitalized. Her husband and many members of her family were near or with her the day of her passing.
Chris was born to Ellsworth and Lovina Dyer on March 13, 1936, in Presque Isle, Maine. She was the eighth of thirteen children. She married at a young age and eventually ended up in Sedalia, Colorado, raising three children, Randy Worsley, Suzie (Worsley) Willis and Jana (Worsley) Rodenborn.
She married the love of her life, Franklin Wayne Moore, on February 18, 1978. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
She worked endlessly with lots of talent and determination to provide a warm and loving home. She was very talented and could do anything she set her mind to. In the early years, she taught herself to sew, cook, and even cut and style family and family friend’s hair. She was impossible to keep up with. She was a 4 foot 11 inch hummingbird. After long busy days of gardening, cooking, baking bread, sewing, cleaning and garage sales, she would spend evening hours enjoying painting, needlepoint, reading and sometimes more cooking of a new recipe. She kept busy until she fell asleep at night. The house always smelled like homemade bread or some new recipe. She took so much pride in her home and was a very particular housekeeper. She used those talents to clean other people’s homes and would bake goodies for them while she was cleaning.
She not only filled her home with warmth and kindness, but reached out to others with love, wit and generosity. Her home always had an open door to family and friends. She was always the happiest when everyone was together laughing, enjoying each other and eating her amazing feasts!
She and Frank had many wonderful years together living in Sedalia and eventually Castle Rock. They spoiled and cared for each other and lived their life enjoying family, friends and their hobbies.
She has been described by family and friends with words like hummingbird, talented, generous, fun, mischievous, spunky, feisty, pistol and firecracker. The stories and descriptive words are still coming.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two brothers and three sisters, her loving husband Frank, her three children, two step children and several grandchildren and great grandchildren who have been her pride and joy.
We will miss her more than words can express. As her husband would say to her as he was shaking his head and trying to keep up with her, “SIC ‘EM.”
Due to concerns with everyone’s safety and health, a celebration of life will be delayed until we can gather together to honor her by sharing memories, good food (maybe some of her recipes) and some fun! Until we can share this time together, please think of Chris with love and a smile when you see a hummingbird, a sunset, or when you are in your kitchen cooking.
Chris was fortunate to be able to afford her medical equipment supplies, but many people cannot afford needed equipment. In lieu of flowers, please consider a cash donation or donation of medical equipment you may have forgotten you have to South Metro Medical Equipment Loan Closet. You can read about them online and contact them at 720-443-2013. Memorial contributions may be made to this organization by visiting their web page at "www.medicalequipmentloan.org".
